Shopify storefront guide
Keep supplier input, merchant approval, and storefront publication as separate steps so shoppers see only the product information the merchant has intentionally published.
Review before display
Product safety information can come from suppliers, manufacturers, responsible parties, or another source authorised by the merchant. Whatever the source, collection should remain separate from the decision to approve and publish it.
ComplyDock stores supplier-submitted values separately from the approved product record. Eligible approved fields can be published without waiting for every requested field to be accepted, while rejected and returned information stays off the storefront.
Controlled publication
Request product-specific information from the assigned supplier or create a clearly identified merchant revision when an authorised source provides an update.
Compare submitted values with the current approved record and decide which individual fields are suitable to accept, return, or reject.
Publish eligible approved fields through ComplyDock only after the merchant has made the review decision. Private files remain outside the storefront block.
Preview the product page, confirm the theme block is visible, and repeat the collection and review workflow when approved values need replacing.
Supported storefront record
ComplyDock's product-information block can display supported, approved values for the product being viewed. Merchants decide which information is required for their products and markets.
Display the approved manufacturer value connected to the product record.
Display approved responsible-party information when the merchant has determined that it is relevant.
Present approved, product-specific warning text where shoppers can review it on the product page.
Present approved handling, care, or other supported instruction text associated with the product.
Theme app block
In the Shopify theme editor, open the relevant product template, add the ComplyDock product-information app block, save the template, and preview a product with published fields. Theme compatibility and placement should be checked on the merchant's active theme.
Check applicable requirements
Shopify's GPSR guidance describes examples of identifying, manufacturer, responsible-person, warning, and instruction information that sellers may need to display. Article 19 of the EU General Product Safety Regulation contains distance-sales information requirements. Merchants should assess their own products and obtain legal advice where necessary.
ComplyDock helps collect, review, and display merchant-approved information. It does not determine whether a product may be sold, certify the information, provide legal advice, or guarantee compliance.
